Phosphor Bronze Wire Mesh

Phosphor Bronze Wire Mesh, made from a copper–tin–phosphorus alloy, combines excellent chemical resistance, high strength, and long-term durability. It offers superior ductility, toughness, weldability, and a fine-grain structure, making it suitable for precision woven meshes.

Phosphor bronze is a non-ferrous copper alloy primarily composed of copper, tin, and a small amount of phosphorus. It is widely used for weaving fine wire mesh and wire cloth filters, EMI/RFI shielding, and various electrical and electronic components. The alloy is known for its high tensile strength, excellent toughness, low coefficient of friction, superior formability, reliable and weldability.

The combination of tin, copper, and phosphorus in phosphor bronze gives the mesh exceptional ductility and weldability, allowing manufacturers to produce intricate and precise mesh structures. These properties make phosphor bronze wire mesh ideal for filtration, separation, shielding, and precision engineering applications where both strength and resistance to degradation are essential.

Material

Phosphor bronze wire is a copper alloy, with 2% to 8% Sn, approximately 0.1% to 0.4% phosphorous, the balance is copper.

Features

Excellent Wear Resistance: The addition of phosphorus significantly increases the hardness and abrasion resistance of the alloy, making it ideal for components subjected to long-term friction, sliding contact, or mechanical wear.

Outstanding Corrosion Resistance: Phosphor bronze performs exceptionally well in marine engineering, coastal environments, and high-humidity areas. It remains stable when exposed to seawater, atmospheric conditions, acidic solutions, or salt spray, ensuring long-lasting performance in harsh conditions.

High Elasticity and Toughness: The tin content gives phosphor bronze a high modulus of elasticity and excellent toughness, making it perfect for manufacturing springs, diaphragms, and other components that require repeated bending without losing shape.

Good Electrical and Thermal Conductivity: While slightly lower than pure copper, its conductivity is more than sufficient for many electrical, electronic, and heat transfer applications.

Superior Fatigue Resistance: Capable of withstanding prolonged cyclic stresses without cracking, phosphor bronze is ideal for precision mechanical parts and moving components.

High Dimensional Stability: Once machined, the material resists deformation, ensuring that tight tolerances and accurate dimensions are maintained for high-precision parts.

Packing And Delivery

Packaging: Packed with moisture-proof paper, plastic film, or customized packaging as required; placed in sturdy wooden cases or cartons for safe delivery.
