Monel Wire Mesh

Monel wire mesh is a woven or welded mesh made from Monel alloy, which is primarily composed of nickel (around 63%-67%) and copper (around 28%-34%), with small amounts of iron, manganese, carbon, and silicon. This alloy is known for its exceptional resistance to corrosion, especially in marine and chemical environments.

Monel wire mesh is manufactured using nickel-based alloy grades such as Monel 400 and K500. Monel 400 is a single-phase austenitic solid solution alloy, containing not less than 63% nickel and 28% to 34% copper. The K500 type incorporates aluminum additions to enhance its strength, achieving a tensile strength of 900-1200 MPa. With wire diameters ranging from 0.05 mm to 2.5 mm, the mesh is suitable for fine weaving requirements from 40 mesh (wire diameter 0.21 mm) up to 200 mesh (wire diameter 0.05 mm).

Weaving Methods‌

The manufacturing processes include ‌plain weaves‌, ‌twills‌, and ‌dutch weaves‌, with customizable aperture sizes (range: ‌20 to 200 mesh‌).

Key Properties of Monel Wire Mesh

Corrosion Resistance: Highly resistant to seawater, acids, and alkalis.

Strength & Durability: Stronger than pure nickel and resists stress corrosion cracking.

Temperature Resistance: Performs well in both high and low temperatures.

Non-magnetic: In certain conditions, especially in annealed form.
